Cindy has done three exceptionally difficult jobs for me over the last 12 months - cleaning out all my mum’s possessions, accumulated over 60 years all around the world; prepping and styling a beach house for rental; and finally, getting my own family home ready for sale.
Cindy has brought a dignity and grace to what has been a demanding and emotionally fraught process - each job is approached with sensitivity and practicality, and ultimately has been a kind of art project. Cindy was amazing. She meticulously re-archived my boxes of family keepsakes, which had broken down over time and were starting to be affected by dust and moisture. She laundered baby clothes that had been packed away for 18 years, sorted and reduced the toys I was keeping, and organised my attic—installing shelves and creating space so I could move around and see what I had stored.
All of this was done with her characteristic attention to detail. I actually enjoy sorting and archiving, but this was a big job that required re-boxing, donating, recycling, throwing things away, and carrying items up and down several flights of stairs. I just had not made the time for it.
